THE TRAVELERS
Photographed in England, these travelers were camped out at an abandoned Victorian girls school. A raggedy, good-humoured bunch of refugees from every social strata, they were youngsters dabbling in being on the road and aging hippies in trucks and buses, trailers and tents. Explorers of life, they traveled together but lived alone.
The little boy, son of "the boss," befriended me and showed me the house. I have a set of pictures within this series called "Lonely Boy." The group, evicted by intolerant authorities, headed for Amsterdam.
